A Random Update

I'm been using Facebook a lot more and for those of you who don't have it or me on there, there is probably some things I should update you guys on.

For starters, I decided to stop making excuses and get back into the gym. My starting weight tipped in at 276lbs. which was quite a lot. The plus side to this is that I did not look 276, also that means I have the size to be able to put on a decent amount of muscle while I trim up.

I'm looking to get into better shape than I was during football in high school, just got tired of people seeing my football picture and going "Wow...what happened?" LOL

Not only have I gotten back in the gym, but September marked the start of my other ambition. I am now in the process of trying to become a professional wrestler. Those who really know me, know I have had a huge love for wrestling and have always been interested in it. It's the perfect balance of athletics and entertainment, so I'm glad to have finally taken the next step in trying to achieve something.

So yeah... That's about it.

Don't know if anyone's already seen these, but the monkey in the first video is great. He is just as shocked and surprised as any child or person would be when it comes to the magic tricks.

The second video is how children react to a potential zombie attack. Don't ask me why they decided to freak out some small children, but the result is awesome-ness.

Good stuff. In other news, my 360 still won't connect. It's for the best though, Matt doesn't want me owning him in Street Fighter 4. That's right, I said it! That goes for everyone else too!

<lj-embed id="6" />

<lj-embed id="7" />

Things we learned about zombies from this video:

* Zombies always announce their intent to attack your house in the form of a letter.
* Zombies can easily be fooled into drinking Tabasco sauce if you tell them it is blood.
* Tape is somewhat effective in slowing down zombies.
* Use plastic wrap to avoid deadly zombie bites.
* Zombies don’t like being punched and kicked by small children.

Thanks goes to www.JapanProbe.com for these great finds.

Weddings & Goodbyes, My Trip Back Home

So I had a trip back home to Tulsa, Oklahoma to be the Best Man in my good friend, Robert's Wedding. I left Wednesday the 5th and got there in the evening time. I hung out with my other friend, Mario, that night and played some video games. He kicked my butt in some NBA2K9, twice.

Thursday, I caught up with Rich, Holly, & Taylor for some lunch and I scared the waitress (big surprise). I caught up with Robert and hung out with him, his future wife, Jen. Later that night was the wedding rehearsal and our "bachelor party" which mainly just consisted of all the guys being huge nerds and system linking up our Xbox360s and playing some Halo3, yeah that's right... I said we played video games and had some drinks.

Friday I made a trip to my brother, Jeremy's place, to pick up my receipt to get my copy of Gears of War 2. Jeremy had just gotten his wisdom teeth taken out, so he busy being in pain to beat me up. Friday night was the wedding and it went by fairly quick. Months before the wedding, everyone was telling me about getting a speech ready and how I needed to prepare that.
I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to say when the time came.. The wedding reception was fairly simple and no one was really pushing me to give a speech, so I wasn't gonna worry about it until someone said something.....no one did. Oh well, it was fine by me. The reception didn't really last too long either and afterwards I made a late trip out to see my friends, Holly and Rich. We played the new Gears of War 2 game and it is freaking sweet! I ended up scratching my disc when I knocked my 360 over (but I got my disc fixed later on, thankfully) but other than that it was a blast.

Saturday, I slept in late after a late night the night before. It's amazing how easily I can sleep back home, but I have such difficulty here at my apartment (maybe it's all the remodelling). Saturday was a laid back day until about 5 when Rich and Holly asked me to head out and get some dinner and hang out. Taylor caught up with us at dinner and we enjoyed the most ridiculous conversations I've had in a while. I didn't scare the waitress here however (her librarian glasses distracted me too much).
We went back to Holly's and Taylor, Rich, & myself all rocked out to some Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. My singing was great, but no one seemed to care because Rich was a maniac. Listening to him try to hit those high notes was hysterical and we purposely picked songs that would make him go nuts. There was much video taken of his singing, which I can't wait to see playbacks of. It was a good evening.

Sunday, I treated my Mom to some Brunch at Marie Callender's restaurant (NONE in Dallas, which is a travesty). Mario joined us, after all he was like another son back in high school, and he brought his girlfriend, Mandy, and baby daughter, Mikayla (probably spelling it wrong) I packed my stuff when we got back home and ended my stay in Tulsa by making a final stop at Mario's place for some more video games.

Not everything was a grand adventure this time around though. Friday ended up being a rather depressing day before the wedding, as my Mom and I had to go and put our dog, Awnrae, to sleep. Awnrae had been sick since I arrived and was spending all day outside, wanting to be left alone. Mom made the comment that apparently Awnrae wanted to see me one more time before she died. It was pretty upsetting to have to drive her to the clinic and know that I'd never to come back home and see her again. We brought Awnrae back with us bundled in a blanket and we buried her in the backyard under the tree that Mom said she always liked to lay under.
According to the conversation Mom and the Vet had, Awnrae's kidneys had failed/been failing, so we made the right decision to make sure she didn't suffer anymore. It still didn't make it any easier on me. I've never dealt with death very well. The whole time Mom was saying we'd have to put her to sleep, I kept expecting Awnrae to make a surprise recovery. I was the same way when my Grandpa was doing bad, I kept believing he'd get a lot better and nothing would happen. I try to stay pretty optimistic about that stuff. I worry that my Mom will have trouble adapting to living at home lonely, as I know she won't want another pet.

R. I. P. Awnrae August '95 - November '08

Besides saying good-bye to our dog, my trip to Tulsa was pretty good. I'm very glad that Robert decided to include me in his wedding plans and I wouldn't have missed it even if I wasn't involved.

My friends in Tulsa are pretty awesome. It's amazing, because I know I've been absolutely terrible at picking up the phone and just saying "Hi" or even playing games with them online. But no matter how horrible of a friend I've probably been to them, they NEVER hestiate to get ahold of me when I'm in town and help me transition right back as if I was still living there. My friends help me never miss a beat and feel like we've never had a day apart. I'm pretty thankful to have friends like that.

Especially since I feel like the friends I have here in DFW are becoming more and more distant. There's been plenty of events I've missed out on by not being informed and others I've missed just due to bad timing or work wearing me out. I never get to see any of them and as much as I know I could be calling them, I hate feeling like the sad, lonely friend who doesn't have anything else to do because I find myself always the one who dials the phone.

I know I'm partly to blame and I learn to deal with the consequences of not calling people. It's just disheartening when you feel like the only person putting any effort into keeping up friendships. It makes you stop and wonder if it's really worth the effort.... but I've learned to enjoy the big gatherings I am invited too and the time I do get to spend with those friends.

I actually had a good stretch of going out and meeting some new people around where I live as it does become a pain in the ass to not have any friends around my area and always being the one having to travel to see the friends I do know.

I'm starting to think too much, I believe I'll just stop while I'm ahead.

.... Come together as one

So I always said that Teddy Ruxpin was an awesome toy back in the day. With his little tape deck and story-telling skills.

And you see, I've always loved Saw for it's awesome devices and traps that people are put it (scripts and bad acting don't matter when it comes to Saw)

Now I finally have these two things together! WOOOO, I love you internet!

http://www.cameltap.com/?p=994

So Mira had a thing on her LJ about responding and she would ask five questions. Then I needed to post an entry with the answers to the questions. I'm also suppose to extend an invitation for people to respond and I'll ask them 5 questions as well so that it would continue. I'm not as awesome as Mira is with creating questions though. So if you respond, I can't say that I'll be able to think of 5 questions for you.

And now the answers to my questions

1. Would you ever eat bugs?

I think I would eventually succumb to the necessity to eat bugs if I was stranded on a island and stuff.

2. If you could be any anime character, who would you be and why?

I would have to just stick as Nicholas D. Wolfwood, the one and only. Because he's got a good head on his shoulders and knows what he wants. He has a good heart and protects those he cares about. Plus all the ladies love him, woooo!

3. When are you coming to visit in CA, dammit! XD

Soon, damn it, soon... If all goes well that is.

4. You are Paris (the Trojan prince, not the city). You are confronted by the three goddesses, and are asked to choose who is the most beautiful. Hera offers you political power, riches, and control over all of Asia; Athena offers you battle prowess, wisdom, and the abilities of the greatest warriors; Aphrodite offers you the love of the most beautiful mortal woman (even if she is already married). Whom do you choose?

I would have chosen Athena, because I would love the wisdom and ability to kick supreme ass of all challengers. Hera's a no go because political power would just get me assassinated. Aphrodite is useless, because if I can't have the love of someone of my own choosing I don't deserve love at all.

5. Do you think an albino toucan would look cool?

NOOOOOOO!!!!! Are you kidding me? It's not a toucan without the colors. THE COLORS!!!!!!

Thank you Dallas Police Department for mega-FAIL when I really needed you the most.

I have the location of a gas station that my check card was used at and even the time it was used. Meaning all I need is an officer to be there with me to talk to the manager to pull up the credit card charge and also look at the video tape around the time that the charge was made... Great news right?

Until the lady tells me that all the robbery detectives are off until Sunday.............

HOW THE FUCK.... in a big city like Dallas can all the robbery detectives be off!! What the hell am I gonna do if when Sunday finally does roll around, these dumbasses at the gas station have already cleared their tape or whatever. I've already heard that some gas stations DO do that.

2 and a half fucking days man.... I have to wait 2 and a half days before I can actually give the police something to use to search for the guys.

I swear if the video recordings for the night's events are erased or whatever, I will be SOOOOO pissed. I still have one other location I have to track down, so I have more chance. So much bullshit. Thank you DPD, you really pulled through for me.

Leases and Requirements...

So I'm reapplying for my lease on my apartment this month and I had to write down all my assets and how much money I made and blah blah blah...

And as I am writing everything down, I suddenly remembered when my mom re-signed the lease last year before I got my name put on and her name removed...

The manager had told me that my mom made too much money to renew the lease, because apparently these apartments are are a reduced rate or something, I don't remember much. BUT looking at my pay stubs for 2007 so far, I've noticed that I've made more in the 5 months of 2007 than I did in the 8 and a half months last year at the clinic.

While this is obviously good news financially, I just got to thinking that they are gonna tell me I can't live here anymore and I'm gonna have to look for a new apartment, where the rent will obviously be more expensive. I guess it's not THAT big a deal, but it sucks a big load of ass if I end up having to start pack shit up and move. The whole searching and moving process is going to be a huge pain the ass. ughh... I won't know until I finish paying my paystubs and turning them in so they can start processing.

Alrighty ladies and gentlemen...

Due to recent events and revelations, I have decided that it is deemed fit that I MUST GO TO COMIC-CON!!!!!!

With that said, is there anyone who is already planning on going? I'm looking at my California peeps for answers to this question.

Also I couldn't get to the computer fast enough when I found out but... STARCRAFT 2!!!!!! OMFG I just wet my pants! Hell yeah, suckas! I was let down by Starcraft: Ghost falling through and I have been waiting oh so long for another game related to my favorite PC Game.

So yeah... Comic-Con bound I seem to be, I might even have to pull my vacation time out for this one. Though this means I won't be attending AX, it's just too many days off in one month.
